Self Ligating Braces

Self-ligating braces are a type of orthodontic technique, often known as the Damon technique. This approach features automatic correction that makes the smile beautiful and easier.

Here is an overview of the Damon System:

  • No Traditional Ligatures:
In the Damon System, there is no need for traditional ligatures (bands or ties) that are commonly used in conventional braces. Instead, a self-ligating system with special gates on the archwires is employed.

  • Movable Archwires:
Movable archwires are fixed in place on the teeth using the gates. These archwires move naturally with the shifting of the teeth, reducing friction and contributing to decreased pain and treatment time.

  • Reduced Appointment Frequency:
Due to the self-ligating design, the Damon System may reduce the number of visits a patient needs to make to the orthodontist.

  • Friction Reduction:
The system minimizes friction between wires and brackets, reducing pressure and friction, making tooth movement more efficient.

  • Treatment Duration:
Some patients may experience shorter treatment periods compared to traditional orthodontic methods.

The Damon System aims to achieve effective results in correcting tooth misalignments with less inconvenience for the patient. Individuals considering orthodontic treatment are advised to consult with their orthodontist to determine if the Damon System is suitable for their individual case.
